What is the reason why the O-ring is easy to break?

Dec 13, 2022

The O-ring is a small circle in the shape of an O, and it can also be made into other large sizes. In order to save costs, some manufacturers use inferior materials for production, so as to achieve the purpose of huge profits. And this kind of sealing ring is easy to break. You can use it for a while after buying it, but after a long time of use, this sign will gradually appear. Let's take a look at the reasons why the O-ring is easy to break:

1. Too poor stretchability, severe overcurrent;

2. The strength is too low and the vulcanization temperature is too high;

3. The glue content is too low, and the physical properties are too inferior;

4. The glue is mixed with other materials;

5. The rubber material is scorched, or the vulcanization is too fast, the molding temperature is high, and the number of exhausts is too much, forming a partial vulcanization first and leaving marks at the joint;

6. The formula contains wax. After the rubber is parked for one to two days, the wax spits out of the surface and forms a diaphragm at the joint, which cannot be bonded after vulcanization.

In short, when purchasing an O-ring, you must first take a sample to see the quality and function, and test all functions before you can rest assured to buy. If you can, you can go to the manufacturer to see the situation.
